I’ve been listening to this CD a lot lately. The band is called Earth and the CD is entitled, “Hex: Or Printing In The Infernal Method. Earth formed somewhere in the 90s and released several CDs of pure heavy and slow music. They use a lot of repetition so that the music lulls you into a trance. It’s great background music if you want to relax or if you just want to nod off. I would not recommend listening to Earth while driving. Earth broke up for a while but they coaxed back into existence by the good folks at Southern Lord Records. Their new CD has an almost western feel to it. The photo inserts are beautiful making this CD one hell of a package. This band is not for everyone, but then again, most bands that I post about on this site are not for everyone.

Hey thanks for passing on the link to your music blog. Just reading over your past couple enteries I have to say I agree, I don’t think the music industry has ever been in a slump like this in its history. It’s terrible.

More recently I’ve been going way back, and have been listening to old recordings of Leadbelly. What a fantastic performer. I make a supplimental income through playing piano, so I do take an interest in music topics in general.

I’d love to hear a sample of your bands work! Thanks again for passing on the link.

Sippy – Thank you for stopping by. I have a sense that readership for this blog will be very low…but personally, I don’t care. I realize that my taste in music is very obscure. I do love to rant about the music business though, lol.

I have heard some Leadbelly but not much. Can you recommend anything. I like all kinds of music but 90s grunge era is very close to my heart because I was remember when all of those bands broke. I am proud to have been a fan of both Nirvana and Soundgarden before they became popular.

If you can suppliment your income by playing piano, you must be very good! I have tried to play piano but I am not good, lol.

I will let you hear my band when the demo is completed.

I would like to check them out!! Are they a jam band?

Lingo – Not quite a jam band. They sound like a very trippy stoner rock band.
